Four Ways to Stick to Your Weight-Loss Goals During the Holidays



The holidays can make keeping up your weight-loss goals more difficult. It can be hard to focus on eating healthier and getting plenty of physical activity when schedules get fuller and life gets busier.


The added stress of the holiday season, mixed with the rich foods and drinks that come along with this bright and merry time of year, can put a wrench in any weight-loss plans or goals.


No need to worry! We've got some tips to help you stay on track while still enjoying this wonderful time of year!


  • Stay hydrated! Dehydration can cause a slower working metablosim. Adequate water intake supports the body in breaking down fat, supresses appetite, and makes excercise more effective.


  • Stay active! We know this can be hard with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Try to get in some physical activity the whole family can join in, like taking a walk to enjoy some christmas lights.

  • Prioritze sleep! A lack of good quality sleep can cause you to be more hungry by increasing the hunger hormone. This increases calorie intake. Less sleep also decreases stamina, excercise tolerance, and lowers metabolism.



  • Eat plenty of protien and fiber! Getting plenty of protien in your diet not only keeps you fuller longer but helps balance blood sugar levels, especially when indulging in holiday rich foods. Fiber will also keep you feeling full and sustained longer. Both will decrease those pesky sugar cravings!
